**It is with great sorrow that we have recently been told that Lacey is no longer ridable. She has been diagnosed with a disease called Equine Systemic Proteoglycan Accumulation(ESPA-formerly known as DSLD). It is a dibilitating degenerative disease that affects all the connective tissue in their bodies, ultimately it tends to show up in their suspensory legimants and tendons. There is no cure or treatment and they seem to be in pain all the time. It is also noted to be genetic, so their babies would have a 50% chance of having the disease as well. We are willing to try a natural supplement that is shipped from the U.S.A. to help her manage pain and with some luck get her "mended" a little. There is a wonderful website that is very informative and supportive..... http://dsldequine.info/. Lacey will be going back in a few months for a re-evaluation on her progression of the disease, until then we are doing our very best to be positive and optomistic that she will be able to stay with us for a while longer.**
Lacey is a registered AQHA mare~Sheiks Impressivelac, that came all the way from Fort Nelson, BC. Lacey loves her treats and has a very passive attitude. She has had a couple foals before and we plan on breeding her in the future. She is double bred Impressive and is HYPP N/N.And Impressive she is!!!! Nominated to Incentive Fund-has already won some money. She is not a big mare (even though her pedigree goes back to Impressive/Three Bars at least four times!) She stands approx 15 hh and is the perfect size for kids to ride! Kaity rode Lacey in 2008 & 2009 and Alex plans to start riding her for 2010 in 4-H. Lacey is our "goto" girl
Thank you Lynda for the great opportunity to buy this mare!
